More Adventures ...

This is our entertainment area ......... mmmmmmmmm, pretty.

Murphy has realised that he can jump up onto the BENCH, walk through all the plants, and then jump off into the front garden ..... because there is a GAP between the fence and the flower box.  So, I blocked that up.

No matter to the MurphMan - because he just figured out that romping through the plants would suffice!!!

No picture of that, because as soon as he sees me, he BOLTS!! He also thinks that the water features are JUST FOR HIM, so he splashes about in the water, and picks up the "decorative" rocks ...!!

Bloody cheeky monster!

"Tails" of Destruction!!!

This is what happens when you leave a puppy alone for the first time AND you are convinced by your husband to leave him with access to the inside of the house :-)

Murphy the Clever!

He has been with us for a week tomorrow, and already he knows how to get in and out of the dog door - of course, we had to put a small step there when we found him stuck with his front legs in and his butt wiggling outside!!!

Today, about 10 minutes ago, I lost my ADSL connection, and upon looking under the desk, found Murphy with a piece of cable in his mouth ..... he chewed through it.  Luckily for everyone involved, I am a horder of things, and promptly found another cable, and have hidden all the other cables behind a screen (also known as a briefcase!!!).  I am working from home today, as feeling a little ill, so you can imagine if I had to call the office and say "Sorry, no work today, my dog ate my cable" .... :-)

He is pretty clever.  We have blocked off all the possible exits that a little puppy could squeeze himself through, and get to the outside world.  Or we ThOUGHT we did .......... until yesterday, when I was in the front yard, chatting to a friend, and here came Murphy .....
Could not figure out what he did, until late last night, when we put the dogs out whilst we ate, and we saw him CLIMB up onto the wood pile, and climb OVER the barricade.
Needless to say, we have a new LARGE TALL improved barricade there now ........ so let's just see.

Cheers

OMG I am sooooooooo tired!!!

I totally forgot how tireing a new puppy is.  You can't sleep in, can't sleep early, have to watch him ALLLLLLLL the time in case he widdles in the house (even after you have sat outside for 2 hours, and he did NOT widdle) :-)

He has a "tentative" name - Murphy.  It suits him, and until John says NO, that is his name.

Ruby decided she liked him yesterday afternoon - because he tried to play ball with her.  So, she liked him.  And this morning, she liked him too - once again, because of the ball.  Captain snapped at him early this afternoon, but I think that was because Murphy was trying to hang off his ear :-)

*sigh* - he is CUTE, but, please, LORD, let him sleep all night :-)

The new addition

Yes, we have a new spotted addition to the family.  He still does not have a name yet (considering we only got him last night, that is not surprising, is it??)  He is wandering around the house this morning, feeling lonely, missing his brothers and sisters ........ and of course my two MONSTERS are hiding away from him, not quite sure WHAT to do ....

He is a BIG BOY ..... full of puppy smell, and puppy inquisitiveness.

Pictures soon.

I am the Kitchen Nazi!!!

Ahhhhhhhh, the JOYS (NOT) of working in a large organisation ....

We have been moved down to a floor where you had to have "special" acess in order to get onto it. We had a LARGE kitchen complete with Dishwasher and Microwave, and a SMALL kitchen, with NO Dishwasher and NO Microwave.
The small amount of people we had soon realised that I was the Kitchen Nazi, and kept the place reasonably clean.  I did have to throw a hissy fit everynow and again, but generally, it was not TOO bad.

Recently, the powers that be decided we were having too much fun down here and moved more people onto the floor - and they have "special" access too.

HOWEVER - they are PIGS!!!!!  Good grief, if you were in a 3rd world country you would not see the amount of mess they make in the SMALL kitchen!!!  Oh YES, you see, it is obviously too hard to put dirty shite into the Dishwasher in the LARGE kitchen, because that would mean they have to WALK down the corridor - so they leave everything in the sink in the SMALL kitchen, so you eventually cannot even get water from the tap because the dirty dishes are packed up so high!!!

Yesterday, I finally cracked it, and took everything down to the LARGE kitchen, and had the Building Manager remove all tea, coffee, sugar, cups, plates, cutlery from the SMALL kitchen.

From now on, if you put ONE SINGLE thing in that sink, I am throwing it in the bin.  SCREW all you messy sods!!!!!!

Traffic NIGHTMARE!!!

So, today is Calvyn's birthday - the big 14!!!

Every year, I take the day off, and Calvyn and I go shopping for his birthday.  It is usually - drive to shopping centre, go to game shop, buy game, have coffee (me) and milkshake (Calvyn), head back home.

This year, Shelby came too because I do the same thing with her for her birthday, but didn't get the time before Christmas.  So off we all went shopping.  I really love it.  Gives me time to chat to them, find out their plans, and their lives.  I hope they enjoy it too.

Anyway, drop theM at home around Noon, and head home.  I live about 50 minutes from them, and hit the freeway, listening to music, generally feeling GOOD about life.

THEN .................drive drive drive,........... screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech, STOP!
45 mins later - still STOPPPED.

Radio says AVOID FREEWAY -too f'n late, as they have closed the freeway behind me,
and I have no where to go!
THEN - closed freeway in front of me, and force 5 million cars off the freeway onto a single lane offramp!!!

WHY?????  - F'g truck driver drove into concrete barrier and his diesel tank exploded

Moron cops close WHOLE freeway!!!!!!

So I drive through Richmond, taking back roads, and figuring out how the hell I can get home.  When all of a sudden some moron from
Yarra Trams (who thought I was hooning through HIS f'g tram junction) jumps out and starts threatening me ..... I was all apologetic, I had idiots behind me hooting, and yelling, and I was trying to apologise to little old idiot of a man ......... and then, he swore at me!!!!! I was all apologetic, and still he swore.  He was physically threatening (stuck his head in my driver side window, yelling abuse at me!!!)This was the ONE day I wished I was NOT a Ninja, cos I would have bashed him, DICKHEAD!!!

ANYWHO - eventually got onto the other freeway, and went around the city, which took me over an hour, and got home 4 HOURS LATER!!!!!

Yes, you can all be amazed that I did NOT beat the living crap out of him ............. I still am!!!  I did, however, complain to Yarra Trams, and I hope they FIRE his OLD ASS!!!!!

Lift Etiquette!

What type of lift traveller are you?

  • do you rush for a lift, and press the door close button because you are a selfish bastard?
  • do you rush for a lift, and only travel up ONE DAMN FLOOR?????
  • do you patiently wait for a lift, only to be pushed out of the way by some MORON who thinks that they have to get in the lift before you (and then also insist on being the first out of the lift?)
From now on, the rules are:

  • If you shut the door in my face, I will KILL you
  • If you only travel up ONE DAMN FLOOR, I will KILL you
  • If you push me out of the way, I will force the doors open and throw you down the lift well.
OK, Clear?????

Holiday Traffic

It has been BLISS these past few days driving into the office.
I can leave home at 7am and be here by 7:30am - fantastic.

So could all those people who are on leave, please NOT return to work?  That would be great.

Thanks!

I am sick of this "death" thing ....

On a morbid note ........... my Dad's youngest sister passed away this morning.

OK GOD, time for you and I to have a chat ......... that is 6 people in not even TWO years ......... can't you pick on someone else now????  Yes, you gave my cousin two beautiful baby girls, but HELL did that mean you could YANK another one from us? Hey????

Rant over ......... thanks for listening.

Who needs to work anyway??

5th of January and I DO NOT want to go back to work.

Hubbie dearest was off last week, and of course that meant I could not undertake the "cleaning frenzy" I normally do over Christmas and New Year.  So I don't want to go back to work until the 12th now.  Mind you, how DUMB is that - I don't want to undertake PAID work so I can do UNPAID CLEANING WORK at home ...... hmmm?

Of course, I will lie in the sun first ..... :-)

Bring on the SUN!!!

It is a truly magnificent day today - 25deg, sunny, light wind to take the heat edge off ......... beautiful.

I, of course, am lying in the sun.  YES, I know about skin cancer, YES I know all the perils of how my skin will age ..... but just face it, FAT looks better brown!!!

Resolutions anyone???

It is 2009, and I am being asked if I have any New Years Resolutions ........ YES, I do.
BUT I am not sharing them all with everyone as if I FAIL, then YOU can't hold it against me

YOU - "I thought you said you were going to go skiing in winter" "I thought you were going to learn to paint"
ME - Yes, I know that is what I said, but I didn't do it, so stop pointing that out to me ... OK??? *smack*

Ahhhhhhhh New Year, and I must admit I seem much calmer than usual :-)

Happy 2009!

Started the New Year at John's brothers place about 50 minutes from us. I was the driver ....... which was OK for me. Had a few, and cruised home with no Booze busses to be seen - Yee Hah!!!
(wouldn't have mattered tho, as I didn't drink that much)

ANYWAY, got home, and John HAD to put the TV on ....... and You Can't Stop the Music was on. Anyone rememember THAT movie. OMG, I broke out the Champagne, and sang and danced the whole movie (yes, yes - sad and tragic, I know). So started 2008 as a Village People tragic ...

Hope you all had a safe and festive New Year (or, if you are in South Africa or Canada, or generally anywhere that HAS NOT had their New Year yet) - Happy New Year!!!!!!

Later ...

Tuesday, December 30, 2008

What are YOU doing for New Year?

Ahhhhhhh, the immortal question ........ 2006 & 2007 we had New Year here at home.  Was a BLAST as we did not have to drive ANYWHERE and could drink as much as we wanted ...... and we did.

This year, I don't wanna do nuthin!!!  I want to sit at home, drink and be alone ...... with my husband.  Of course, HE does not, he wants to DO SOMETHING.

Watch this space .....

Merry Christmas!!!

Well, Christmas has come and gone, and wasn't it wonderful??? Well, wasn't it????

We had a lovely Christmas - busy busy, but good.  Started on the 24th December at my Mum's with WAYyyyyyyy too much food, lots of pressies, and alcohol.  Staggered home at around 7pm (started at 2pm).  Then just sat and watched mindless TV (well someone did that!!!)......... but not me, no no no, I rushed around getting the house ready for Christmas day at OUR PLACE.

People started arriving at Noon - and of course, John decided that at 11:55am, it would be a great idea to go out on his bike for a "quick" ride.  Needless to say, people arrived, and I was still in my apron, with hair all a-frizz .......... BEWDIFUL!  When John came back, I rushed in and changed into my beautiful self ...... and came out again to greet everyone in my "Christmas attire".
Plenty of food was devoured, pressies given to all the kids, a swim down at the beach, some kayaking (or in some cases, some "falling out of the kayak into the water"ing ......
By 8pm everyone had departed to their own houses to recover ....

Boxing Day is always at Andrew and Viv's - which luckily for us is about 5 mins down the road.  Once again, alot of food and alcohol .... but this time, interspersed with the Boxing Day test - Australia v South Africa.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh - Aussie summer ....... enough sun for me to lie in on the 27th and 28th ........... enjoying my week off.  Bring on that sunshine, and let's WIN that cricket!!!

Cheers
